Listen "11-9-22: Greatest single game ever?"

Episode Synopsis

I would love to hear from you, just send me text and let me know what you think of the podcast.May 16, 1980 was the day that perhaps the greatest single game playoff performance in any sport was put on by the great Magic Johnson. It wasn’t just that he put up 42 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Or that he went 14-14 from the free throw line. Or that they won the game and the championship. It was that he stepped in for the league MVP Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and played center at just 6’8” after playing point guard all year. He improvised his entire game, as a guy not known for scoring and lifted his team to victory. He did it in maybe the most hostile environment in North American sports, Philadelphia. And he did it at just 20 years old. I share this story for pure inspiration because Magic and the Lakers had a hundred reasons why they shouldn’t have won the series and why he shouldn’t have played so well. But Magic took the challenge head on and dominated for the win. A lesson we can all take and be inspired by in our own lives. Visit my website: saxinthemorning.com for merchandise and other links. Follow us on social media: Instagram: @saxinthemorning_podcastYouTube: subscribe and watch shorts here  Remember, Sax in the Morning swag is now available on my Instagram site.
