Send us a textMartin Harris may be one of the most under appreciated "founding fathers" of The Restored Church of Jesus Christ.  Martin is often remembered for one of the greatest mistakes of early church history.  He lost the 116 pages.  How could he?  Why did he not first listen to the Lord when he was told no the first time or the 2nd time?  These are some of the things we often think about and try to learn from when looking at Martin Harris.  However, there is a huge success story to Martin Harris.  Martin repented, and traveled to meet Joseph and others at the Whitmer farm when called upon.  He was blessed to be one of the 3 witnesses.  The only one of the 3 that did not fall away from the church at some point.  Martin mortgage his farm to pay for the publication of the Book of Mormon.  He was willing to lose it all for restoration of The Lords church.  Even though he was very unsure and uneasy about it.  There were so many unknowns.  With all of that, Martin still acted.  Because of his faith, 5000 copies of the Book of Mormon were published.Section 19 of the Doctrine & Covenants was received and directed toward Martin Harris.  One of the greatest sections as it pertains to the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the necessity of repentance, and the suffering that awaits those who do not repent.  Christ suffered that we might not have to.  He wants us to use the Atonement.  He wants us to apply His Mercy.Support the showThanks for listening!
