Listen "In the Aftermath: Reflections from James Williams on Minneapolis and George Floyd"
Episode Synopsis
James Williams has been a resident of Minneapolis for over 30 years. A native of St. Louis, the actor and director reflects on two stories: 1) A white woman in Central Park calling the police on a black birdwatcher that asked her to leash her dog; and, 2) A white policeman with his full weight on the neck of a black man as the life and breath slowly left his body, with the crowd around him pleading to lift up his weight before the man expired. "I was struck by the expression on both faces that reflected the power and control they possessed in both situations."
