Listen "Thomas Aquinas Summa Theologiae - Anger, Desire, and Naturalness - Sadler's Lectures"

Episode Synopsis

This lecture discusses key ideas from the medieval Christin philosopher and theologian Thomas Aquinas's work, the Summa Theologiae, First Part of the Second Part, question 46 "On Anger"

It focuses specifically in particular on a comparison made between anger and desire (concupiscentia), and the question as to which of them is more "natural". This requires making some distinctions about what "natural" and "nature" can mean. In some senses, anger is more natural than desire, and in others desire is more natural.
