The fascinating backstory that you most likely didn't ask for is Furiosa. This film may have lost sight of its potential as a strong stand-alone film in its intense effort to provide background information for Fury Road scenes and characters in Sadisflix. Before releasing his Avengers movie, George Miller was genuinely unable to create Iron Man, Captain America, or Thor. Thus, he created Fury Road and subsequently Furiosa. Alyla Browne, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlize Theron all equally co-opt Furiosa as a character you empathize with, unlike the Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr. dilemma of actors playing the role. It's difficult to discern the changes between the three over the course of two films, and that takes incredible casting, makeup, and computer graphics work.
