Being a woman of colour, and hearing them referring to her with the N word could not only be a shock, but also make her feel helpless. It was a tough topic to navigate.
Its a topic that is very much relevant in Singapore as we are a multicultural nation and society, and it is not uncommon for us to have friendships/relationships with people of different nationalities and races. So how do we ensure that our family members are on the same page as us regarding this?
