Way back in 1969, a forward thinking, innovative group of pharmacists convened together in a new association called ASCP. Identifying as pharmacists who were "consulted" by these shiny, new care centers called nursing homes, they started an industry and a service centered around managing medications - how to best package, deliver, start, stop and evalaute medications in an effort to keep people safe and healthy. This celebrated association of consultant pharmacists and long term care pharmacies, ASCP, is 56 years old today!
