Listen "Erik Sowinski on his most iconic pace jobs, pace fails, time at Iowa college and more"
Episode Synopsis
Have you ever seen someone in a professional race go out fastest than everyone else to the front and then drop out of the race? Well this is a job called a pacer and today I have the pleasure of speaking with one of the best pacers in the world if not the best pacer in the world Erik Sowinski! Erik attended Iowa for college and went on to become a three time U.S. Champion. But a few years ago he discovered the job of pacing and it turned out that he was very good at it because he has paced several iconic national and world records including the indoor men’s 1500 world record and the indoor American mile record. Throughout this episode we discuss why he decided to start pacing, what it takes to pace a perfect race, some of his pacing fails, and more.
