After his playing career, Gus transitioned into coaching, first at the high school levelin Pennsylvania and Florida before taking on major collegiate roles. He rose through the ranks as Head of Strength andConditioning at Cheyney University, returned to Penn State as an assistant strength coach, and later served as Director of Strength and Conditioning and Offensive Line Coach atClark Atlanta University.
