Listen "Unconventional Gratitude: The Long Way Around "
Episode Synopsis
If you’ve ever lived in a big city then you know traffic, delays, detours, they’re all pretty common. Usually traffic is the result of a lot of people trying to go the same route at the same time. It’s nobody’s fault, it’s just an unfortunate syncing of schedules, too few available lanes, and high likelihood that someone is going to crash. Life is a lot like those busy highways. Many of us have a roadmap -- goals and dreams, aspirations and plans for what we think is the best version of our lives. None of us intentionally plan to get lost, blow a tire, or run out of gas. Nevertheless, we often find ourselves at a proverbial pitstop, wondering what in the world am I supposed to do now? Even those most confident and well-navigated will still find ourselves surprised by the unexpected traffic stops of life—deadlocks, accidents, pile ups. In an attempt to help us avoid those things for which we may not be prepared, God in his infinite wisdom, can cause a delay or construct a detour. How we handle those delays and detours affects everything that comes next. Have you ever felt held up by unnecessary traffic, doing your best to get to your destination, praying desperately that you won’t’ be forced to wait any longer, only to be met with a delay or detour—I’ve been there. Let’s talk about it on tonight’s episode: The Long Way Around.
