Listen "Ep 33 Interview w/ Caia (Root to Rise Yoga): "Who" does yoga?"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome Back to Nuanced Beauty!
INTERVIEW EPISODE
Today I (Christina) sat down with Caia, the owner of Root to Rise yoga studio in St Johns, FL, and we talked all about Yoga. Caia shares about her days first beginning yoga some time ago to opening her own studio back in August of 2020.
In the spirit of nuance, I share when I started yoga and how if you had asked me BEFORE I began practicing yoga, who did yoga, I would have envisioned a slender, target-shopping, athleisure-wearing mom OR a super fit college girl doing poses on the edge of a cliff. Now, I'm sure I'm not the only person who's made these assumptions. Caia shares her thoughts and we specifically dig into helping everyone come to a class to get comfortable on their mat, and in their body, doing their practice.
I also ask about the person who's too anxious to attend in person, or the at-home yogi, how would you encourage them to find a community to practice with. Caia digs into a great life lesson of doing things that are uncomfortable in order to grow and experience, and whether you get that from yoga practice, or elsewhere, digging into the tension in order to find something beautiful is a challenge worth pursuing.
Hope you enjoy the episode!
