Christmas is only days away and that means last minute gifts are being purchased, wrapped and placed under the tree! One gift that will not be exchanged is the gift called "suffering." In fact, for Christians in the West, suffering is to be avoided at all costs. We have much to learn from our brothers and sisters in the persecuted Church. They have had to embrace this despised gift and, as a result, they offer a different perspective on the blessings that come when we follow Christ to a place of suffering.
