Listen "Anchored 21: Humble yourself so he can lift you up"
Episode Synopsis
What motivates you day to day—and where do you place your hope? Peter closes his letter by calling leaders and everyone alike to humility in the midst of responsibility, anxiety, and opposition. The passage asks us to examine our posture: are we driven by pride, ambition, or fearful striving, or by humble service and trust in God?Peter teaches that humility shapes faithful leadership and faithful living. Elders are urged to shepherd willingly and as examples, not for shameful gain; younger people are called to submit in respectful humility; and all are commanded to cast anxieties on the Lord because He cares. Resistance to the enemy comes through sober watchfulness and firm faith, and God himself will—and does—restore, strengthen, and establish those who endure.Practically, this means doing our work with humble devotion, guarding against domineering or self-serving attitudes, staying alert to spiritual dangers, and trusting God with the outcome. Serve faithfully, resist the adversary in the power of Christ, and rest in the promise that after a little suffering the God of all grace will confirm and strengthen you for His glory.
