Anjimile's latest album, Giver Taker, confronts their difficult journey as a trans person as well as their struggle with addiction to alcohol with honesty and conviction. Anjimile grew up outside Dallas, and spent several years studying in Boston and escaping what they felt was a suffocating environment in Texas. Now sober after a long stint in several rehab facilities, Anjimile has also faced head-on their gender identity road with courage, honesty and introspection.
