August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month , and while breastfeeding is a natural and essential way to nourish babies, public attitudes around it remain mixed. Research shows that breastfeeding provides optimal nutrition and strengthens a baby’s immune system, reducing risks of infections and chronic illnesses. Yet, despite these benefits, many mothers still feel judged or uncomfortable breastfeeding in public spaces.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of a baby’s life, yet societal pressures, stigma, and lifestyle changes can make this difficult to achieve.
