We tend to make excuses a lot. Even when we’re confessing our faults, we try to give reason to help someone understand why we did what we did. But today, Pastor Dan reminds us of Daniel, and how – even though he didn’t participate in the sins of his country – he still prayed to God for them, as though it were himself who committed the sin. He didn’t try to differentiate or make excuses, he simply asked for mercy for himself, and for the nation. Let’s take a lesson from Daniel and quit making excuses for our sins.
