2 Samuel 14:1-33 is read by Jayne Dedrick to the congregation at St Stephen's Bellevue Hill on Sunday 7th May 2023.This chapter is the focus of an introduction to the series on Wisdom in 2 Samuel 14-20. Jayne read from the bible translation known as the ESV (English Standard Version).The Preface to the ESV reads: " 'This Book is the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is Wisdom; this is the royal Law; these are the lively Oracles of God. ' With these words the Moderator of the Church of Scotland hands a Bible to the new monarch in Britain's coronation service."On Saturday 6th May 2023, the day before this reading, the Bible was indeed given to King Charles III at his coronation service by the Moderator.
