Listen "Slow Burn"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to "The Slow Burn," where we take a deep dive into life's toughest challenges, the stories that shape us, and the lessons we carry forward. I'm your host, Nate Woods.
Today, we're joined by a special guest, Jerome Michael Flemming Jr. Jerome is the oldest of six siblings, a father of five, a grandfather of four, and a man who knows the weight of responsibility all too well. Born and raised in Chicago, Jerome grew up before the city became known as 'Chiraq,' facing the harsh realities of life during the crack epidemic of the 80s.
In this episode, we explore how growing up in a tough environment forced Jerome to become a man at an early age, taking on responsibilities that many of us can't even imagine. He opens up about his struggles with alcohol, starting to drink far too young, and how working in carpentry has given him a new perspective on people and life.
We also discuss the challenges of parenting, the ways our kids push us to our limits, and how film has changed my outlook on life.
So, sit back, take a deep breath, and join us as we navigate the slow burn of life's hardest lessons.
