Episode Synopsis
Today I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the Fitness Industry’s true characters Derek Woodske. Those of you who don’t know Derek he’s a man of great intellect and passion for his craft, and his has the ability to not only leave you stunned with his knowledge but also in tears of laughter with his comic timing and observational humour.
Although Derek is a bear of a man who is a former professional hammer thrower for Canada who broke 2 National Records, he is by all means a gentle giant who seems to value old school manners and respect as much as he does hard work and integrity. He is a man who doesn’t crave confrontation but he is also not afraid to voice his opinions a when he feels people are being misleading, or if they are misrepresenting facts and figures.
His achievements in track and field as an athlete, and then as a coach in the NFL and now as a human performance specialist who presents all over the world mean he has spent most of his life in the spotlight, however, I get the feeling that had he found himself on a different path in life he would never be someone who craves attention, especially not for attention’s sake.
Luckily for us he didn’t end up on a different path because he is a man who holds a depth of knowledge when it comes to human performance as well as a wealth of priceless personal experience.
