We offer our deepest respect and sincere condolences to her family, colleagues, and students.Tonight’s chapter: "Has the efficiency of foreign exchange markets in India evolved over time?" 🇮🇳 Written by Radhika Prosad Datta and Ranajoy Bhattacharyya, published in the International Journal of Emerging Markets (ABDC-B) on September 17, 2018, by Emerald Publishing. A shift from basket peg to free float. A nation liberalizing. A market learning to speak in longer sentences. They measure long memory with the Hurst exponent—corrected empirical R/S—then check the echo with two other methods. Careful hands. Patient ears. The result: for the US dollar, 1980–2017, no decisive turn in overall efficiency; regime shifts don’t tip the balance. Yet from 1999–2017, the dollar’s song lingers longer than the pound, the yen, the euro. 🇺🇸 > 🇬🇧 🇯🇵 🇪🇺 A persistence beneath the noise. A rhythm under the rain.Short sentence. Long memory. Longer story. We count. We compare. We consider what doesn’t change—and what won’t stop humming. If a market remembers, does it remember us back; and if it does, what exactly is it remembering—the past we measure, or the patterns we wish to see? ❓🙏 Thank you to Dr. Radhika Prosad Datta and Prof. Ranajoy Bhattacharyya, and to Emerald Publishing for bringing this work to readers.🔔 Subscribe to "Revise and Resubmit" on Spotify, and catch our YouTube channel "Weekend Researcher" ▶️.
