Topic: Speaking In Tongues (Fire For Fire)
Text: James 3:1-8, Acts 2:1-4, Ecclesiastes
The tongue is the greatest weapon on earth and for God to take charge of our lives, He has to take charge of our tongue.
1. Words are spirits. There is a dimensions of you that is physical, likewise a part that is spiritual, that is the tongue.
2. Anything you will have physically, has been commanded and given to you spiritually, Hebrews 11:3.
3. Death and life lies in the power of the tongue, Proverbs 18:21
4. The tongue is the smallest member of the body. It is the smallest things that will change your life. If you can change your character a bit, smile a bit more etc, things will begin to change.
5. The tongue is fire. the tongue is equated to fire and as such we all have that weapon. The tongue has the ability to defile the body. What defiles you is not what goes into your mouth, but what comes out if your mouth.
What gives expression to the things in your heart are the things you are saying. It is your tongue that determines what is in your heart, Romans 10:10. To confirm the things you believe, you have to say it. Once you can tame your tongue, you can change the course of your life.
