The Outsiders is a 1983 coming-of-age film directed by Francis Ford Coppola. This touching film is an adaptation of the 1967 eponymous novel of the same name by S.E. Hinton about a teen gang called The Greasers, known for the trouble they cause, actively deal with tense social angst involving a rival group, The Socials in rural Oklahoma. The Outsiders was released on March 25, 1983 in the U.S. JoEllen Misakian, a librarian at Lone Star Elementary School in Fresno, CA.. along with their students, were responsible for inspiring Coppola to make this "golden" retro film!
