Episode Synopsis
John Green is working on a very big idea. With well over a decade of experience in real estate and finance, John has co-founded Blackstar Stability, a program that uses a double-bottom line business model to create compelling risk-adjusted returns for investors, while generating significant benefits for low-income and middle-income families and communities. The program's roots go back to the 2007 recession, when John ran a program which helped families with substantial negative equity and focused on loan modifications. It was a great success, so they went national by leveraging private capital, but still working with low- and moderate-income families, as well as minority communities, that were slow to reach full recovery following the Great Recession. This is social impact with a capital "I." If you'd like to join me in my quest to rethink real estate, there are two simple things you can do.
