Bethany is a small village on the eastern slope of the Mt. of Olives. Bethany is mentioned frequently in the New Testament. It was the home of Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus. The Mt. Of Olives is part of a mountain ridge that extends over two miles on the eastern side of the Old City of Jerusalem and separates it from the Judaean desert.
