Listen "Do Real Men Need Counseling?"
Episode Synopsis
Most of us can take action and push through struggles if it helps us build physical strength or if it brings us a profit. But what about working and struggling with our emotional health and building emotional strength? Most of us cringe and pull away from anything relating to counseling, therapy, or just having to “talk about our feelings.” Many of us can relate that our culture tells us that counseling or therapy is a sign of weakness or brokenness; but if we are honest with ourselves we can all admit to having thoughts and feelings within ourselves that are difficult to unpack and even harder to verbalize. This week, Chris brings his counselor, Chad Karger, to the table to give us a fresh perspective of counseling that can be intentional and immediately applicable to our lives and relationships. It doesn’t take years of going to counseling to make progress and to glean wisdom from this area, and there is tremendous opportunity for growth if we will just take a minute and check ourselves. Chad gives practical insight into how he approaches counseling other men as he offers us a ton of really helpful advice for us to apply right away to our lives, and shows us what it means to actually take-off our superhero cape and ask for help.
