Tis the season where we rearrange the living room to put up the Christmas tree, where our favorite hiding spots accumulate gifts for one another, we gather around feasts and the calendar fills up with the activities of the season. Yet for all of the things we do to mark the holiday, we might actually be missing it. It should come as no surprise that pageantry and excess don't lead us to the humility and wonder of the manger. As the old hymn says, "Let every heart, prepare him room." What if we were to leave space in our lives for God to enter into?
