The life of Jesus pushes us off the fenceposts of doubt and indecision, calling us to make up our minds about him. For even the refusal to decide actually is a decision when it comes to him: "Whoever is not with me is against me," he warns (Luke 11:23).That is why Jesus says, "Seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7). And he says, "The truth will set you free" (John 8:32), since he knows where the truth is found: "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6).The choice is clear: "How long will you waver, limping between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him!" (1 Kings 18:21). This is the inescapable decision that Jesus puts before us all. "Choose this day whom you will serve" (Joshua 24:15), for "No one can serve two masters" (Matthew 6:24). Jesus says to us even now, "Come, follow me."
