Listen "Ep 70 My Pop Miguel - Mercedes Fernandez"
Episode Synopsis
Mercedes' Grandfather made it to 90 with every common health disease you can think of. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, blindness, heart failure, etc. On paper, it is detrimental; in reality, he was strong. After 7 years of his passing, the emotional charge has lessened for Mercedes and she admits she can logically understand how his ending was anticipated. Yet as many may know with grief, "when you're in it, you're in it and cannot see out". Mercedes believes grief doesn't ever "truly go away", but it softens with time.
