Listen "Codependency (what it is and what it isn't)"
Episode Synopsis
The term codependency was first used in the 1950s to describe the relationship that some wives had with their alcoholic husbands. Since then, it's been widely interpreted to mean "too dependent" on someone. But how do we square that with marriage when there is intrinsic dependency on one another? Can dependency create more security and emotional safety? How much is too much? Are there ways in which our resistance to dependence can create unhealthy patterns? I answer all of those questions in this episode. To work with me or us, you can visit: www.brycebauer.com www.jennymorrow.com
