On April 26th 2022, my grandfather went to bed for the last time. I have known him for my entire existence, but less than half of his life. In that time he was always my biggest supporter along with my grandmother. They were high school sweethearts who lived through many trials. They were always a symbol of hope in a world full of divorce. I strive to emulate what they had. Theirs was a partnership that lasted just short of 70 years of marriage. Papa was a fun grandfather in my youth, and then a close confidant and friend as I got older. In many ways, he was the father-figure that Would have been lacking else wise. I miss him dearly, and my heart aches.
