Listen "For Granny"

Episode Synopsis

It is said that a grandmother is a remarkable woman. A wonderful combination of warmth, kindness, laughter, and love. Those are the some of the words that come to mind when I think about her. I remember as a child being so excited to fly up to New York from Arizona to go see her. To hug her…to be spoiled by her.
I would love the time we would spend together, taking the subway to wherever we needed to go. Walking past the Yankee’s stadium, going to church, even summers out here in Sumter. All still very vivid memories 20+ years later.
As I reminisce, I realized how God was using her to reach me. She taught me the power of prayer. I had no clue of the words I was speaking over my life and to God at that time, but It planted a seed. It helped shape my faith in Jesus, giving my life to Him at 16. It helped me get through my mother’s death at 19. It helped me wait patiently until I married my wife at 28, and I know it God will see me through this time as well.
God showed me love, through her love. God taught me wisdom, through her wisdom. God showed me strength, through her strength. For that I am eternally grateful. As we leave today, I know we may still mourn, but let us rejoice, for it is said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She is in paradise, and she lives on through the memories of each of us.
I love you Granny. You are the best Grandmother anyone could have. I miss you so much. Until we met again.
