The Bible can make us uncomfortable for a variety of reasons. Like when it challenges our worldview, or when people do things that are super inappropriate, or when Jesus says things like, "If you want to be my disciple, you have to hate everyone in your family." Wait...what?! Yeah. He said that. But, again, does it mean what we think it means? What is Jesus calling for all of those who follow Him to do?
