All people are guilty before God as breakers of His law, and therefore condemned to rightly endure His wrath against their sin. When we are faced with this reality, our natural response is to look for some kind of loophole or technicality to get us "off the hook", but the simple truth is that there are not loopholes or technicalities with God and His law. The religious skeptic will try to turn the tables on God with a logical fallacy that makes God the author of evil. The religious legalist will try to make themselves look good in light of their perception of the evil of others. No matter which angle we try to come at it from, there is no way around the judgment of God against our sin. We are guilty, but Jesus has the ability to forgive and cleanse us, and transform us so that we are seen as just as perfect as Him. Jesus is able to perform this miracle through His cross.
