Love is a vital part of life, and as Christians it is absolutely imperative. God actually describes Himself as love in 1 John 4:8. The problem we have with love is that we tend to have an understanding of it based upon the way the world defines it, instead of having a truly biblical definition. In this section of Romans 12, the specific will of God is being unpacked for us and it is surrounding love from three different angles; love as it concerns other Christians, those who are hostile toward us, and further those who count us as enemies. Jesus expects us to dispense His love to all three of these categories of people, and it is going to take a supernatural work of God to make it happen.
