All people in all places are born with a desire for significance. We all have a deep longing to live lives filled with meaning and purpose. Along with this desire comes the temptation to find significance in things that can never provide the true soul satisfaction we are longing for. Even good things can be overly elevated and take an inappropriate position in our lives. Jesus steps into human history as a newborn, and He does so as a King as well. This King of kings is above every authority and our greatest meaning and purpose is found in living for His glory and the building of His Kingdom. The good news of great joy that came to the shepherds has come to us today. Jesus has come, and He came for us. Our joy is found din Him. Jesus is who you are looking for, even if you haven’t realized it yet.
