Rejecting God’s way leads you down further than you thought you would go. As Jonah boards a ship to sail thousands of miles across the Mediterranean Sea he think he is escaping God and His will. Jonah seems to be in complete control, until all of the sudden he is not. A violent storm rises on the sea that the sailors cannot fight, and after their long hard attempt to navigate the storm physically they come to find out that it is actually a spiritual storm. Jonah goes from taking a peaceful nap to being thrown overboard and wallowed by a massive fish. Sadly for Jonah, he had to go down further before he would come to himself and realize that this entire situation was the result of his rebellion against God.
