The entire world is divided into two categories. These categories are not based upon nationality, heritage, skin tone, language or any other superficial line. Very simply, there are those who are submitted to the Spirit of God and there are those who are not. There are drastic results that come from each of these kinds of lives. Those who are submitted to God and His Spirit are secure and joyful with a firmly established identity that is found in Christ. Those who are in rebellion against God and His Spirit are insecure and chaotic with a wavering identity based on temporary things. These realities are on clear display through the lives of David and Saul. God uses David's skill in music, and Saul's rebellion against Him to give David access to the palace and begin his training in kingly duties. The difference in life that measures success and failure is only the degree to which someone is submitted to the Spirit of God. Achievement, position, and wealth are not the true measurements of successful life. Are you submitted to Jesus? Is His Spirit upon your life?
