Listen "Uncontainable God"
Episode Synopsis
At Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, we continued our John 21 sermon series by focusing on John 21:18-25 this past Sunday, May 1. As Jesus noted in verse 19 that Peter would glorify God in his death, we know from Peter's life and death that glory for him (and many of the other apostles) didn't mean comfort or preferential treatment. May we glorify God in our lives as Peter did, so that no changes are required to glorify God in our deaths. Jesus' resurrection ushered in a new reality and a new world order. Resurrection life is compelled not to live for self but to live for Christ: How compelled are we to stop living for ourselves and start living for Jesus?
At the close of John's gospel, he reminds us that he's only written part of Jesus' stories. With Jesus there's always more because we serve an uncontainable God!
