No one could have seen this coming.We all know at least the basics. I mean we have all made it this far in life. We aren’t perfect of course, but we’re functional. Mostly. We are no different than the normal folks in the Corinthian church so long ago.Then the cross. Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. This is God’s plan? The cross simply does not fit with how life really works.Take a few moments this weekend to read 1Corintians 1:10-2:5. It can be a bit hard to follow at first, but read it over and over again. Maybe we don’t know how life is supposed to work after all. Maybe the cross reveals a different way. A better way. A more powerful way. A way to freedom and health and love that our other ways could never take us to. Maybe. That or the cross really is ridiculous. It can only be one or the other.Pastor David
