Listen "Shaped by the Seasons"

Episode Synopsis

It is so close now. Only days away.It is not too late to let Advent prepare you for Christmas. How we keep our time shapes us. How we organize our schedules, what makes it in and what is excluded, forms the people that we are becoming. Over these last weeks we have seen this biblical principle applied to the weekly and daily rhythms of our time keeping, and this week we will look at the shaping power of the rhythms of seasonal time.It is not too late to adopt the rhythms of Advent. Throughout Advent many at Redeemer are setting aside one-minute morning, noon, and night for prayerful waiting and silence. We open and close that minute praying Psalm 130:5: “I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.” When our minds wander away from Jesus during that minute, we use the same verse to bring our focus back to him. Everyone has three minutes. Try it.The waiting is almost over. I look forward to worshiping together this Sunday, the last Sunday of Advent.Pastor David
