Hannah is favored by God but with no child. She is barren. No child, no son, equals no promise (Genesis 3:16). Yet, God brings life to an empty womb to do more than provide a baby for a babyless mother. God is on the move for his people. Israel is in desperate need of cleansing and a King to put her enemies to flight. Hannah's cry and God's answer leads to Hannah's prayer of thanksgiving. God has provided and will accomplish His will.
