Rachel shares her experience hiding her internal suffering for most of her life. Rather than addressing the chronic sadness, she hid it—she drank through it to subside the pain. She catastrophized her life because she believed that was the hand she was dealt, and there was no way out of the nonstop grief.
Once Rachel got sober her sensitivity, that once seemed like a character flaw, became her superpower. This is was drives her to share her experience, strength, and hope to help others.
In the same way, Rachel is motivated to end the chronic head pain she's been suffering from for over two years. She continues to suit up in her brand new clothes from her shopping spree (see previous episode) and show up for life seeking answers and relief.
