Episode Synopsis
Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Necessary Evil
Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 2 episode 8: Necessary Evil. In this episode we appear to flashback to a time when DS9 was part of a Dickens play...no not quite that far...but the station is under Cardassian rule and it's all pretty grim. Odo meets Dukat, Kira and even Quark for the very first time as Dukat strong-arms him into investigating the murder of a Bajoran man.
Necessary Evil
Quark gets himself into some trouble early on and ends up clinging to life in the infirmary. Investigating this attack sends Odo back in time to the first crime he investigated on the station -- a much darker and (apparently) bluer time when little orphan children sat on the promenade eating gruel. Well, sort of. We flash backwards and forwards quite a bit as Odo manages to solve the new crime and the very old one that eluded him 5 years ago.
What's this rebinge thing?
It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines.
Please listen to season 1 and some of our favorite episodes like Battle Lines and In the Hands of the Prophets. Or you can also listen to our previous episode (where Kim sighs A LOT): Rules of Acquisition.
Next time...
We dive into Season 2 Episode 9 of DS9: Second Sight.
