All Christians are called to love thy neighbor as thyself - that includes people who persecute you. I had that happen to me last night and while I was shocked at the nastiness I prayed immediately, "Lord, they know not what they do...." and asked the Holy Spirit to help me love them like Jesus does. This can be your spouse, family, friends, co-workers and people you don't even know. It is super hard when it is someone you once were super close with but all we can do is "love our way through it" which is why I prayed for him and my heart to be soft last night. I'll admit - I was very hurt, shocked and felt so sorry for all the anger this person expressed. I live for an audience of ONE and I am grateful He led me to the truth and transformed my beliefs and my ways.
