Our series this month is called "Finish Strong." Last week, I shared a funny story about how my marathon coach taught me the value of RPE (a.k.a. rate of perceived exertion) so I could finish my race strong. We are discussing our spiritual RPE: Rejoice, Pray/Practice, and Embrace Pray & Practice I hope you listened to our guest interview with Mary Jo Pierce a few weeks ago because we discussed being consistent prayer warriors. Philippians 4:6 reminds us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Paul goes on to remind us in Philippians 4:8 to practice what we witnessed him do, thinking only on things that are true and worthy of praise. He knew to be finishers, we would have to learn the art of taking our thoughts captive and making them obedient to Christ. I believe one of the many reasons prayer is so powerful is because it shifts our focus to things that are true and worthy to be praised. Process: Am I growing weary in redirecting my thoughts and concerns through prayer?
