Listen "Under the Lens (ft. Sticksy & Bella)"

Episode Synopsis

Episode 9 of Real Talk with @butyoudontlooksickofficial, @Sticksy617, and @itsbellawhit
In this week’s episode, Sticksy, Bella, and I, all public advocates and influencers, have a discussion about our experiences working within our communities- and the reality that comes with public advocacy. When discussing chronic illness and mental health regularly in our work, all three of us have shared experience dealing with the turbulence as individuals who speak very candidly on our experiences. From algorithmic censorship to abled-bodied audiences critiquing our advocacy, we’ve dealt with it all, and are here to laugh about it all. Speaking with Sticksy and Bella, it was a refreshing perspective to take a moment to look at the problems within the space. Most conversations surrounding disability and illness, whether it be mental or physical, has been primarily centered on the translation in-between the healthy world and disability. But, the reality is there is a broad spectrum of issues, from micro to macro.
About our guests:
Sticksy is a massively successful influencer, boasting over 750,000 followers on TikTok. Diagnosed with Asperberger’s, BPD, EDS, and symptoms of Marfan’s, Sticks takes a fresh approach to advocacy. Both blunt and hysterical, he has contributed greatly, providing a needed perspective in the constantly developing world of chronic illness. With platforms full of honest content, opinions, commentary, and humor, Sticksy is not afraid to say what needs to be said.
