In this episode we finished reading and discussing five additional parables. Jesus taught that the kingdom of heaven is like the following parables: the parable of the mustard seed, parable of the yeast (leaven), parable of the treasure in the field, parable of the pearl, and the parable of the fishing net. The parable of the mustard seed and the yeast gave us a picture of the growth of God’s kingdom. The parables of the treasure in the field and the pearl speaks to us about the love we have for God and the love He has for us. We must be willing to give our all for Him and He has already given His all for us (died on the cross). The parables of the wheat and tares and the fishing net speaks to us of the separation that will happen on judgement day. We are not to try and figure out who’s a wheat and who’s a tare.
