In this Episode we talked about Terah, Abram's father and the fact that he left Ur to go to Canaan. Although there was no indication that God had ever talked to Terah about going to Canaan, he headed in that direction but stopped in Haran and stayed there until his death. We also talked about the fact that all the promises God gave to Abraham belong to us. We read the scripture in Galatians 3:26-29 which reads as follows:
"For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For we are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God's promise to Abraham belongs to you." (NLT)
We also started discussing some of the benefits promised in the Abrahamic Covenant. Some of that covenant included the following:
1. Abraham would become a great nation
2. God would bless Abraham
3. God will make Abraham famous
4. Abraham would be a blessing to others
5. Those that bless Abraham would be blessed
6. Those who cursed Abraham would be cursed
7. All the families of the earth would be blessed through Abraham
