Listen "“Forward Into The Future” RRR # 1,242 May 5, 2024"
Episode Synopsis
Charles Kassell Harris
Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this fellow is? That’s right! Charles Kassell Harris, composer of more than 300 songs, the most famous of which is “After The Ball.” You’ll hear it and a couple of other Harris songs, including one of his signature “tear jerkers” in the final segment of this week’s show. We’ll start off the show with another birthday salute, for Bing Crosby. In between the birthday segments, we’ll push the envelope, go forward into the future and celebrate a symbol of America. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era.
THANKS FOR LISTENING AND ENJOY THE SHOW!
