Episode Synopsis
We all know adolescence is a period of rapid biological and psychological change that notably impacts parent-child relationships. Interaction between parents and teens becomes harder to flow easily.
On this episode of Raising Parents: The Parenting Science Insights Podcast, host Dina Sargeant is joined by Elisabeth Stitt, an author, award-winning parent educator, coach, and retired school teacher. However, first and foremost, she is a mother and a stepmother. With her contribution as a teacher for 25 years, she knows how little support parents have in today's society. In this podcast, they talk about how parents should listen to and understand their teenage children, also how to deal with their behavior in their adolescent period for lesser parent and teen conflict. While discussing the proper conversation with an adolescent, Dina and Elisabeth roleplay a common scenario amongst teenagers and how to manage the situation using the principles discussed.
